I’m an experienced, professional speaker. I have chaired interviews, been in panels, and spoken at schools, libraries and festivals in the UK and abroad, including the Imagine Festival, The EdBookFest, Latitude, and YLG. I have done keynote speeches and delivered many an assembly. I probably won’t wear a red tutu.
My fees are in line with the Society of Authors guidelines.
I don’t need much: a laptop and projector would be perfect. Smiling teachers (if possible). Some water, maybe. A crowd of happy (or at least not hostile) faces looking at me. World peace. Respect and equality for all people of all nations. Easy stuff really.
Having an author visit your school is a wonderful thing – none ever came to mine, and I’d have loved that. It’s even more special when they sign your book. I can arrange this through local indie bookshops. They are dying a painful death and we need to save them. Soon they may be extinct.
Please contact me if you would like me to speak at your school or other event.
